This morning I made some oatmeal & toast, then I took on the challenge to play with my food before I ate it. What is more playful than a spoonful of jelly?
That is a strawberry jelly heart and an apricot/peach mix for the flames. And hey – it tasted good, too.
The rest of my breakfast was a hearty bowl of oatmeal, some orange juice and coffee.
I thought as I was eating it that it is kind of a shame that we are encouraged NOT to play with out food. I understand why – for some people in some places in this weird world of ours – food is sacred and often scarce. But as long as your ‘playing’ doesn’t render your food inedible, why not have a go?
It does make the meal that much more interesting
