Would you believe that this started out as a heart made of matchsticks? Well, it did.
Clearly the first vision I had did not pan out. I wanted a flaming heart but circumstances fought against me. First, I tried the matchsticks, then lighter fluid on an old griddle pan. I discovered that lighter fluid dries faster than any other substance on Earth. I am sure this is why criminals use gasoline for their dastardly deeds. Lighter fluid is designed to burn BBQ briquettes and that’s it.
Okay what next? I turned to the book and chose the tea suggestion. I love tea and have more than enough on hand. Tea is flaky and wild – not an ideal substance to create art with. I suppose I could have used some glue to hold it down but that didn’t occur to me until – ugh – just now.
Let me tell you – this piece smelled fantastic. I sat outside on my patio and enjoyed the fresh winter air and this spicy aroma wafting all around.
Very smile inducing.
